A typeface is a tool. An important one. Great, when life proves this credo: The new „Bünder Tagblatt“—set in the „Franziska“ typeface only—was awarded the European Newspaper Award 2013 in the category of typography.
The Hamburg-based information designers Christian Hruschka and Stefan Semrau have created a modern and fresh layout with the multifaceted palette of all weights from „Franziska“ and used the different characters of the typeface skilfully for running text and as well the headlines.
